Yamaha Expands Utility Line with Kodiak 700 and 450 Kiwami Editions
Yamaha Motor Europe has unveiled two new Utility ATV models for 2026: The Kodiak 700 Kiwami and Kodiak 450 Kiwami. Engineered for professionals who demand durability, capability and all-day comfort, both models mark the most refined iterations of the Kodiak line to date.
“Kiwami” — meaning “ultimate” or “pinnacle” in Japanese — sets the tone for these machines, which offer elevated specifications and real-world reliability. Both models come equipped with heated grips, thumb warmer, protective hand guards, a rugged seat cover, and durable aluminium front and rear baskets, making them all-seasonworkhorses for forestry, agriculture, estate management and beyond.
The Kodiak 700 Kiwami features Yamaha’s powerful 686cc MK II engine, paired with Ultramatic CVT, On-Command 4WD with Diff-lock, and Electric Power Steering. With a 600 kg towing capacity, KYB suspension, disc brakes and a standard WARN winch, it’s built for serious workloads without sacrificing comfort or control.
The Kodiak 450 Kiwami delivers compact versatility, powered by a 421cc EFI engine and offering smooth low-end torque, class-leading engine braking, and confident traction through a selectable 2WD/4WD/Diff-lock system. With long-stroke KYB shocks and a compact chassis, it’s the ideal mid-size partner for navigating narrow tracks or tight terrain.
The Kodiak 700 Kiwami will be available in Desert Tan / Midnight Blue from February 2026, with Olive Green 700 and 450 models available later in the year.
THE NEW TÉNÉRÉ 700 & TÉNÉRÉ 700 RALLY
CHASE THE NEXT HORIZON
One of the most iconic names in motorcycling, Ténéré was born from the ultimate off-road challenge – the Paris Dakar Rally. For 2025, a new generation of Ténéré 700 is set to build on the Ténéré legacy. It remains an exciting machine inspired by Yamaha’s rally successes but is now even more accessible to a wider range of motorcyclists. Alongside a new standard Ténéré 700 comes a lower seat height variant with shorter travel suspension to create a motorcycle which appeals to riders who don’t want the tallest riding position while, conversely, the new Ténéré 700 Rally offers a true pumped-up off-road style ride and higher specification for the more discerning off-road enthusiast.

Adventure Design
The Ténéré 700’s silhouette is iconic, with a tall front and a compact tail. Drawing on decades of rally expertise, it delivers an engaging ride across all terrains. Moreover, the front end offers excellent visibility and protection with its large windscreen, while the slim mid-to-rear section allows space for rider movement, especially when standing off-road. Additionally, the updated 16-liter fuel tank is now placed lower for better balance and handling, enhancing ergonomics while keeping the classic Ténéré look. Finally, the new rally-inspired one-piece seat is long, narrow, and promotes greater freedom of movement than the previous two-piece design.
New Suspension Systems
The Ténéré 700’s inverted front forks are now fully adjustable, while the rear suspension features a rally-inspired shock with a revised progressive linkage for a smooth ride on any surface. Designed for extreme terrain, the Ténéré 700 Rally builds on the adventure-ready Ténéré 700, offering high-end KYB front forks with an extra 20mm stroke for 230mm front travel and 255mm ground clearance.

Switchable ABS and TCS at the touch of a button
Giving you ultimate control when riding off road, TCS and ABS may be switched off. TCS has two settings, on and off, and can be deselected via the menu on the TFT dashboard, while a large button at the side of the dash can be used to control the ABS settings. ABS Mode 1 is the default and activates the anti-lock system on both wheels, while Mode 2 deactivates ABS only on the rear. Mode 3 turns off ABS intervention and hands full braking control to you. These modes can be selected via the menu on the TFT dashboard or, for a faster and more convenient operation, a long press of the dedicated ABS button turns off the anti-lock system and TCS.
2025 MT-07
DAWN OF A NEW DARKNESS
The MT-07 has led the industry with its futuristic styling and a torque laden motor that has acquired legions of fans around the world. The edgy, sometimes radical, looks have given the MT series a cult following, inspiring a new generation of motorcyclists to take to two wheels and experience an exhilaration only those in the MT community understand. For 2025 Yamaha again looks to be the category trendsetter, as it welcomes this iconic member of the MT family with a fresh new look, an even higher specification and the option of a Y-AMT equipped version.

LIGHTER
New 41mm inverted forks adorn the front end of the new MT-07, offering a more planted front end feeling alongside a more modern and premium look. The upside down forks combine with the new chassis to deliver a more engaging ride, while the new die-cast aluminium triple clamp is a first on a large capacity Yamaha. These updates, along with the new design and SpinForged wheels not only enhance the agility of the MT-07, but also play a significant role in the overall weight saving goal. The new MT-07 weighs in at just 183kg – a full kilogram less than the previous model.
SHARPER
The MT-07 is a engaging motorcycle to ride and the design team has sought to convey that in the styling. Up front, the character is defined by the headlamp unit, with the compact LED lights deliberately styled to look like two staring eyes and give the MT-07 its distinctive and sharp aspect. Great care has been taken to package hoses and cabling to maintain a neat appearance through the compact, newly designed fuel tank and tail unit, which completes the aggressiveness of the MT-07.

SMARTER
Powered by the legendary 690cc CP2 parallel-twin engine, the fourth-generation MT-07 features an innovative acoustic amplifying system to really elevate the aural experience when riding, improving the connection between rider and machine. Additionally, appearing on the CP2 platform for the first time, the 2025 MT-07 features the YCC-T electronic throttle which has previously been utilised on larger capacity models in the MT-series. Adopting this ride-by-wire throttle technology allows the MT-07 to employ a whole suite of electronic rider aids, which enable customisation and aid enjoyment.

Yamaha promotes ATV safety
Yamaha has pledged to help improve farm safety by offering free ATV rider competency training from the European All-Terrain Vehicle Safety Institute (EASI®) to anyone purchasing a new Yamaha ATV. “We have always advocated training for ATV operators, so to help improve driver competency we offer these courses free of charge with a new ATV,” says Yamaha’s Area Sales Manager, Carl Stuart.
According to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) 2022 report:
‘Agriculture has the worst rate of worker fatal injury (per 100,000) of the main industrial sectors: 21 times higher than the average five-year annual rate across all industries.’*
Machinery and vehicles accounted for almost half of fatalities (48%). To reduce risk, improve operator competence, and help safeguard workers, the HSE strongly advise that ATV operators complete a training course.
“ATVs, when used properly, can save time and money. Our training courses highlight general machine checks, upkeep, weight distribution and active riding, which is imperative when operating on uneven, rutted terrain which is so often found on farms,” says Amy Morris, EASI UK Regional Operations Manager.
Taking a basic course to learn riding skills and use the correct equipment can help prevent the risk of accidents. “With the ever-increasing popularity of ATV’s, many operators have little or no experience. ATVs handle very differently to cars and motorcycles, so it is vitally important that all users should learn how to safely operate an ATV by taking an operator course,” says Mrs Morris.
The training can be completed in one day and there are 38 centres throughout the UK to do so. EASI advises that all riders, including those with years of experience, make the most of this offer. “Even experienced riders can find themselves in potentially hazardous situations that can, without the correct training and knowledge, result in serious accidents. We welcome this move by Yamaha and hope that its customers will take advantage of this offer,” adds Mrs Morris.

Choosing between ATV power outputs
ATVs are commonly offered with a fairly limited choice of large or small engine. Typically these are 700cc or 450cc petrol injection or diesel engines with either manual or CVT transmission. There are subtle, but important, variations in stature, versatility, comfort and performance. However, is it a case of spot the difference? or are there real benefits to be had by selecting one over the other? We spoke to husband and wife, Aled and Emily Roberts, to find out.
Aled and wife Emily both help to run their respective family farms near Wrexham. Emily works with her father to manage 1000 ewes and 250 ewe lambs over 500 acres (202 ha) along with additional arable and mountain grazing land. Thirty miles away, husband Aled runs his family farm with 500 ewes and 150 ewe lambs over 200 acres.
Both spend most of their time on ATVs, an essential tool for everyday farming tasks. However, Emily has the range topping 700cc Yamaha Grizzly, one of the biggest and most powerful ATVs available, whilst Aled has opted for the smaller Yamaha Kodiak 450 EPS. The machines were both supplied new by their local dealer and form part of a long line of Yamaha machines owned by the couple. After years of owning 700cc ATVs, Aled has moved to a lower power 450cc model, whilst Emily has chosen to stick with more powerful 700cc machines for fifteen years.
Explaining her choice, Emily says:
“Our farming system sees the Welsh Mountain ewes take full advantage of mountain grazing rights. It enables us to make best use of the mountain, but it requires a lot of gathering sheep throughout the year. Therefore I have a 700cc machine, because the power of the bike manages the mountainous terrain better.
On paper the two machines have very similar weight carrying capabilities. The 700 has a slightly larger rack capacity of 140 kilos compared to the 120 kilos of the 450 model. However, the towing limit for the 450, at 500 kilos, is a full 100 kilos shy of the 700’s 600 kilo limit.
“I would also suggest that the figures are accurate for when the ATV is on the flat, but with the gradients and tricky terrain I face on the mountain, I would say the 700cc Grizzly offers greater stability, ground clearance and braking capacity,” she adds.
At 1500 feet above sea level, the top of Ruabon Moor is 600 feet above the farm. Moving sheep through even well-known areas can be treacherous, not least because of the bomb holes.
“Following the Second World War, hundreds of bomb holes were found on top of the moor. To confuse Luftwaffe pilots sent to bomb Liverpool, lights were situated on the moors to draw their bombs. The result is a heavily pitted landscape caused by the bombs they released. Now covered with bracken, they are impossible to see so I need a rugged machine with plenty of power to traverse them, especially if I’m carrying any weight,” she says.
Emily has also chosen to use dual wheels for stability in the toughest conditions. The size of the wheels and ground clearance on the larger Grizzly are both factors that help her to manage on the tough terrain. The 14 inch wheels are 2 inches wider than the Kodiak and ground clearance is 43mm greater. Both ATVs have adjustable independent double wishbone suspension, but the 700 has 22mm greater wheel travel at the front and 43mm at the rear.
“Ground clearance is a big factor for me and I have chosen to have the ‘chunky’ tyres fitted too for added grip. If I had the smaller 450 I would wear the tyres out and burn more fuel trying to rev it over the hard ground. I would also expect to damage the underside on rocks and I can’t afford this when I have no phone signal on top of the mountain. I also like the Warn winch which comes as standard and has come in handy a few times,” she says.
Braking is a significant factor for any ATV, especially those like the Yamahas which have a CVT transmission. The smaller 450 has dual hydraulic discs on the front and sealed oil bathed multi discs on the rear. However, to cope with the extra weight and power, the larger 700 has dual ventilated hydraulic discs all round.
“I need to be able to stop whilst carrying almost a ton of weight and descending steep hills. The engine brakes very well for a CVT transmission, but it is imperative that I can trust the brakes to stop me quickly and safely,” she says.
Electric power steering is standard on the Grizzly, and an option on the Kodiak. Adding it increases the price of the smaller model, but it is still more than £3,000 cheaper with this option. Both have switchable 2- and 4-wheel drive operated by a switch on the handlebars. The larger ATV has a price tag of £14,760 whilst the 450 with a similar spec is £11,280. And this is where Aled’s argument for the smaller model gathers weight.
“For the work I do, I neither need the extra power or size of a 700cc machine. I like the smaller dimensions of the 450. It allows me to move it with my bodyweight more easily and the seating position is more in the ATV than on top of it. I am also sure I have reduced my fuel bill by switching to the smaller engine,” he says.
The 450 is also more compact. At 1180mm wide it is 50mm narrower than the 700 and 35mm shorter. Whilst this seems insignificant, it has made a crucial difference for Aled.
“I have a livestock container with a hydraulic deck system. I can carry 120 sheep in the main body and the ATV is low enough to fit above on the top deck. I only need one vehicle to transport both livestock and ATV, enabling me to unload the ATV at my destination and use it to round the sheep up. By not having to take a second vehicle I am saving time and fuel, and can operate alone,” he says.
He also has the added advantage of lambing outside which reduces his reliance on a trailer to move ewes and lambs. He operates a forage rotational grazing system where the sheep are out all year, making the ATV a tool for checking and feeding the flock rather than transporting them.
“I have added aluminium plates for the dogs on the back and, like Emily’s 700, I have a winch as standard, but I rarely have to use it. It is surprising how different the work is when the farms are not that far apart, but it is the main reason why I chose to downsize, I just don’t need the added power and cost,” he says.
Fuel consumption figures are rarely stated for ATVs, due to the varied nature of the mileages covered. Aled suggests he is saving significantly following the switch, but Emily is unsure she would see the same benefit.
“I’m definitely using less fuel after having downsized. My guess would be that over the 1500 miles I cover in a year the saving would be hundreds of pounds,” says Aled. However, Emily counters saying,
“I would be using a 450cc ATV at its limit and revving the engine all the time to get the performance I need. This is why I don’t think there would be a significant saving for me.”
Like the farms that choose them, ATVs are far from generic. The choice of engine size, transmission and load capacity can make the difference between spending thousands of pounds and saving many hours of work.
“Life would be so much harder for me if I had to use Aled’s machine, and it would be much more expensive if he used mine. So, we have the right tool for our respective farms and we wouldn’t be able to do without them for a day,” she concludes.

Yamaha Motor Adopts Newly Developed Eco-Friendly Recycled Polypropylene as a Raw Material
Steps towards employing more carbon-neutral raw materials beginning with ASEAN market commuter models.
Yamaha Motor announced today that it has succeeded in developing a high-quality and environmentally friendly recycled polypropylene (PP) material which can be used for the main exterior bodywork for motorcycles. The Company will begin using the new raw material with the main 2023 commuter models for ASEAN markets.
This eco-friendly recycled PP material is made only from pre-consumer materials* with a traceable manufacturing history and no risk of containing environmentally hazardous substances, such as purging compounds** and scraps, generated in the production processes of petrochemical and molding manufacturers.
Resin materials are often used for the exterior bodywork of motorcycles, and PP materials account for about half of these parts, making it a major raw material for the Company. Yamaha Motor has been driving the development and the use of recycled PP in its products for some time now, but this newly developed material oers even higher levels of strength and quality looks compared to conventional recycled materials. It can also be used for areas requiring greater aesthetic appeal.
With the use of this eco-friendly recycled PP going forward, Yamaha Motor plans to raise the usage ratio of such recycled materials in motorcycles and gradually adopt the material in other product categories as well.
In line with the Yamaha Motor Group Environmental Plan 2050, Yamaha Motor is aiming to achieve carbon neutrality*** throughout all of its business activities—including its entire supply chain—by 2050. To realize this, the Company has set a goal of switching to 100% sustainable materials by 2050, and will expand its eorts to adopt green and other recycled materials for its products.
* Raw materials, which have not reached customers, and are supplied especially for their use in recycled nal materials
** Intermediary materials produced during resin synthesis
*** Emissions as a direct result of business activities (Scope 1 and 2) and emissions outside of these (Scope 3)

Clean the Sea
Now entering its third year, Yamaha Motor’s inspiring Clean the Sea projects continue to bring people with the passion for nature ever closer, focusing on diverse marine environments that unite the unique love for the big blue.
Our Clean the Sea projects are diverse and wide spread; from supporting record-breaking voyages collecting marine debris, to more local initiatives focusing on raising awareness and promoting recycling.
Inner city rivers are often most susceptible to the negative impacts of pollution in the water.Since 2017, Yamaha Motor Portugal has run initiatives which clear debris from the Tagus river in central Lisbon, while at the same time educating less fortunate teenagers in the area on the benefits of recycling and marine preservation.
In 2021, Simone Zignoli highlighted the importance of having a minimal impact on the environment when on an Italian adventure, aboard his FX WaveRunner. Zignoli completely immersed himself in Sardinian nature, ensuring he left no negative impact on the environment around him by living off only what was growing locally.
In Scandinavia, since 2021, Ocean Crusaders have been supported by Yamaha Outboard power to help clean up operations and remove plastics from the waters around Sweden.
Blue4Green is an initiative launched and run in Spain which litter picks in coves, secluded bays and areas which are unreachable on foot and using larger marine vessels. Yamaha Motor started working with Lucas del Paso in 2022, he and his team launched Blue4Green following a world record breaking Personal Watercraft journey which saw him cover over 3,500km in eight months, collecting marine debris all the way.
The Clean the Sea projects reflect our commitment to support a host of activities across Europe to preserve the marine environment for tomorrow.
Supporting Ultimate Surfing
Big wave surfing sees some of the world’s best surfers in a life-long pursuit of huge waves, some reaching 100ft (30m) in height as they break on the shores of the Atlantic coast. A sport reserved for only the best and bravest waterman and women in the world, paired with the finest equipment. Recent years have seen the world of big wave surfing grow in popularity, both for spectators and participants, and much of this is down to the technological and engineering innovations of Yamaha WaveRunners.

Waves which were once unthinkable to surf are now possible for these elite, world-class athletes. WaveRunner performance, stability and reliability have all been key factors in the growth of the sport, allowing pilots to navigate the surfers in the safest way possible. This reputation and innovation has maintained Yamaha position as the unit of choice for the rising stars in the sport.
Nic von Rupp is a professional big wave surfer from Sintra, Portugal and a Yamaha Motor ambassador. Having won many big wave competitions during his career, in November 2020, hessurfed some of the biggest waves ever ridden at the legendary Nazaré Beach, where waves can reach a phenomenal 30 meters high.
In his quest to become the world’s best big-wave surfer Nic trains intensively, working incredibly hard with his team to achieve peak performance and be able to tackle nature at its fullest. With that level of dedication and so much at stake, he knows he needs the best equipment available. And for him, when it comes to a personal watercraft to get him into and out of the biggest waves – and pick him up reliably when he disappears under all that crushing water – it has to beYamaha, which he’s used for much of his career.
Currently, Nic uses the FX SVHO for his adventures amongst waves that can be up to eight stories high, relying on the FX SVHO to be super stable in some of the world’s most extreme conditions, reliable, and powerful enough to outrun the surf.
At Yamaha Motor we believe in people with big dreams and aspirations. This is why the relationship with Nic is so strong. Yamaha Celebrates 25th Anniversary of the Revolutionary R1
Yamaha Motor Europe is proud to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the ground-breaking R1 with dedicated activities planned at the Yamaha Racing Experience (YRE). This year the YRE will be held at the legendary Mugello Circuit in Italy on the 21st and 22nd of July and will bring together some of Yamaha’s biggest stars and enthusiasts to honour the remarkable legacy of the iconic machine.
Since its launch, the Yamaha R1 has redened standards of performance and innovation in the industry. Its 25-year journey of evolution is a testament to Yamaha’s dedication to engineering excellence, which cemented the R1 as an icon of speed, power, and cutting-edge technology that revolutionised the sports bike market.
Making its grand entrance in 1998, at the core of the R1 was an innovative, compact, and lightweight 998cc, liquid-cooled, 20-valve, double overhead camshaft, four-cylinder engine which featured a ve-valve-per-cylinder head with redesigned valve sizes to boost torque and improved porting.
However, the real game-changer came from Project Leader Kunihiko Miwa’s ingenious decision to create the world’s rst vertically stacked gearbox in a production motorcycle, which resulted in a lighter, shorter engine that allowed for a longer swing arm, enhancing traction while maintaining a conventional sports bike wheelbase.
In addition to its innovative powertrain, the 1998 R1 introduced an all-new aluminium Deltabox II chassis, a heavily braced alloy swingarm, a Yamaha Monoshock shock absorber, and upside-down 41mm fully adjustable front forks developed in collaboration with O¨hlins.
This Grand Prix-inspired compact chassis and suspension setup oered unrivalled handling and manoeuvrability, setting a new benchmark for modern sports bikes, with the R1 producing an astonishing 150PS while weighing only 177 kg.
The R1’s racing success was equally remarkable. At the prestigious Isle of Man TT, the bike made history in 1999 when David Jeeries stormed to the TT Formula One victory, in the process setting a record 121,235 mph lap, before going on to win the Senior race and the Production TT, conrming the R1’s racing pedigree to the world.
As Yamaha continued to rene and improve the R1, the 2000 model was launched with revisions to over 250 parts, including engine and chassis enhancements, more aerodynamic bodywork, and a new titanium muer.
Two years later, in 2002, Yamaha introduced the next generation of R1, led by Project Leader Yoshikazu Koike, which showcased a groundbreaking vacuum-controlled fuel injection system that provided rened power output and a new Deltabox III frame which was lighter and yet 30% stronger in torsional rigidity.
The year 2004 marked the arrival of the fourth generation R1 featuring new engine with larger bore and shorter stroke and closed-deck cylinder design, as well as fracture-split (FS) connecting rods, RAM-air intake, new under-seat exhausts, revised chassis geometry and a sharpened body design. For the rst time a production motorcycle was achieving the 1:1 power to weight ratio, thanks to the 180PS delivered by the completely new power train.
The R1 that was unveiled in 2007 boasted Yamaha’s innovative YCC-T ride-by-wire throttle system and electronically controlled variable air intake funnels (YCC-I). Project Leader Makato Shimamoto also introduced a new four-valve design motor, slipper clutch, an improved Deltabox frame as well as improved brakes and suspension.
Building on its legacy, Yamaha launched the next generation R1 in 2009, featuring a ground-breaking crossplane crankshaft engine, directly derived from Yamaha’s MotoGP M1. This unique design reduced inertia forces and delivered a more linear throttle connection. Next to that, Development Leader Toyoshi Nishida introduced twin fuel injectors, a new lightweight aluminium Deltabox frame, cast magnesium subframe and cutting-edge electronics.
This model set the standard for handling and performance in the world of racing in 2009, highlighted by the incredible performance of American Ben Spies in WorldSBK, with the rookie recording 14 wins in 28 races to claim the 2009 title.
Reinforcing the competitiveness of the R1 that year, the YART Yamaha EWC team was crowned Endurance World Champions, while Leon Camier won 19 out of 26 races on his way to lifting the British Superbike Championship, and Katsuyuki Nakasuga clinched his rst Japanese Superbike Championship title.
Constantly looking to innovate, the 2012 R1 incorporated a traction control system that adjusted ignition timing, fuel delivery, and throttle opening to maintain optimal traction, enhancing drivability and fuel consumption.
To mark another ground-breaking step, the 2015 R1 was launched with a powerful 200PS engine and was the rst production motorcycle equipped with a six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and electronic support systems – developed and proven in MotoGP. With a dry weight of 179 kg and a host of racing features the 2015 R1 has been a sensation. Project Chief Hideki Fujiwara also introduced the top-of-the-line, limited edition R1M which featured electronically controlled suspension, a lightweight carbon-bre cowl, and an onboard data logger to cater to the needs of serious racing and track day devotees.
The 2018 R1 model oered riders an even more extensive array of sophisticated electronics, and the addition of a Quick Shift System (QSS) with a blipper function for clutchless up and downshifting took the R1 and R1M’s performance on the street and track to the next level. The R1’s handling performance was rened with more progressive mapping on the Lift Control System as well as revised suspension settings – and the O¨hlins Electronic Racing Suspension on the R1M featured a revised interface for a more intuitive set-up.
For 2020, the R1 featured a CP4 engine with new cylinder head, camshafts and injection system – while the extensive electronic rider aids were rened to ensure even higher levels of controllability. A new EBM (Engine Brake Management) enabled the rider to select one of three dierent engine braking forces to match riding conditions – and the new Brake Control (BC) system gave added condence and control when cornering. With revised damping valves and a reduced spring rate, the R1’s 43mm KYB forks provided increased feedback for a more natural handling feeling. And for improved chassis performance and reduced lap times the R1M was equipped with a new rear shock and uprated O¨hlins ERS NPX gas pressurised forks.
Over recent years, the R1 and R1M have continued to evolve and remain a dominant force on the racing scene, with Pata Yamaha Prometeon Ocial WorldSBK Team’s Toprak Razgatliog?lu and Andrea Locatelli leading the charge in the FIM Superbike World Championship. The highlight of which was Razgatliog?lu’s 2021 WorldSBK Championship winning season that saw the Turkish rider rack up 13 race wins and 16 further podiums on his way to the title, while Italian Locatelli has grown from strength-to-strength on the R1 and has 11 podiums to his name so far.
On top of this, the R1 has demonstrated its prowess all over the world, with the Yamaha Factory Racing Team winning the historic Suzuka 8 Hours endurance race four times in a row between 2015-2018, plus Cameron Beaubier (2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020) and Jake Gagne (2021, 2022) securing seven of the last eight AMA Superbike titles.
In 2021, Nakasuga would lift an incredible tenth Japanese Superbike Championship, with Tommy Hill (2011), Josh Brookes (2015), Tarran Mackenzie (2021), and Bradley Ray (2022) all being crowned British Superbike Champions on the R1.
As the legacy of the R1 continues to grow, Yamaha remains committed to pushing the boundaries of innovation with the introduction of the R1 GYTR. GYTR (Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing) is Yamaha’s in-house specialist racing component division that has been developing performance enhancing technology for over 40 years. Designed specically for track-day riders and racers who recognise Yamaha’s winning performance and premium quality, the 2023 R1 GYTR is faster and more precise than ever. Manufactured to comply with FIM Stock 1000 regulations, this high-specication machine provides individuals and teams with the ultimate canvas to create their own unique superbike. The R1 GYTR is equipped with over 25 GYTR race specication components including an Akrapovic race exhaust system, racing ECU, wiring harness, GYTR chassis parts, drive system and complete race cowling in primer white – plus much more. The R1 GYTR is available exclusively from GYTR PRO SHOPS.
To mark such a momentous anniversary, the Yamaha Racing Experience at Mugello will host the celebration activities for the R1, with the Tuscany circuit, renowned for its fast and challenging track layout that makes it a favourite among riders and fans alike, providing the perfect setting to honour such an incredible machine. Usually the event is exclusive to R1M customers, however the 2023 YRE will be open for the rst time to R1 owners to mark this momentous occasion, with two dierent options available to them to attend.
There are 25 spots available to R1 owners for the whole two days program, where they can enjoy the full Yamaha Racing Experience along with the R1M customers – which includes track sessions on both days, the ability to get advises from Yamaha racing technicians to give their bikes the optimum setup, exclusive tours of the Pata Yamaha Prometeon WorldSBK pit box, and much more. Marketing and Motorsport Director, Yamaha Motor Europe
“We are proud to honour the 25th anniversary of the Yamaha R1 in 2023. The R1 has been a game-changer in the world of motorcycles, pushing the boundaries of performance and innovation and constantly evolving to be at the pinnacle of the racing world. It is a bike that has redened what is possible during the last 25 years with technology and innovations derived directly from MotoGP and WSBK. Outboard Engines
Yamaha Motor’s outboard portfolio reflects a deep understanding of a diverse array of users, their boats and their requirements. Whatever our users may need to enhance their fun and enjoyment on the water, here at Yamaha we have got it covered with products that are designed to perform and engineered to last.
Premium XTO V8 Segment – Like Rocket Science. But on water.
The Premium segment is designed for large cabin boats and offshore cruisers, when only the very best is good enough. Packed with unique and industry-leading technologies, the new XTO 450hp V8 and XTO 400hp V8 engines are all about cruising beyond the horizon and experiencing offshore adventures, without limits.
In 2018, the torque and additional power of the XTO 425hp V8 changed the market by creating the ability to power weekend cruisers and semi-displacement vessels with an outboard. Improving on the game-changing XTO 425hp V8 was a tough ask, but the new XTO 450hp V8 offers a superior power-to-weight ratio. This increase in power makes it an option for even bigger and heavier boats where the benefits of a Yamaha engine are needed. The natural aspiration of the new XTO 450hp and 400hp V8 models make them ideal for powering larger boats, delivering progressive power throughout the rev range, allowing Yamaha outboards to become an option for ever larger and heavier vessels.
At Yamaha Motor we are dedicated to continuous innovation, allowing users to discover new worlds, new passions and new experiences through many of the latest technical advancements.
High-Power Segment – This Is Your Search Engine.
The engines in the High Power segment (200hp – VMAX SHO 90hp) are all about family adventures and discovering new pastimes. Perfect for idyllic coastal cruising or water sports alike, there’s a high-power engine for every desire. For those craving excitement, the awesome power-to-weight ratio of the VMAX family is guaranteed to satisfy. Designed for lighter-weight, high-performance boats, these engines are built to the highest Yamaha quality standards.
The brand new 200hp and 150hp engines have mass appeal to anyone wanting to have fun on the water. With a host of technical enhancements, these engines are equally suited to single or twin installations. They are all about creating an exciting and adrenaline-pumping experience for everyone to enjoy.
These exciting outboards offer helmsmen the latest integrated Electro-Hydraulic Steering technology. The units also feature fresh premium-inspired styling, provide easier integration with the groundbreaking Helm Master® EX boat control system, and TotalTilt’s two-click operation raises or lowers these outboards automatically.
The 200hp and 150hp feature a fuel-efficient EFI system, making nanosecond calculations to optimise the fuel and air mix for peak performance and efficiency, along with reliable cold starting. Owners will also benefit from a microprocessor ECU, clean-burn technology and variable camshaft timing on the 200hp to improve performance and efficiency, plus reductions in emissions across the RPM range. Both engines are 2.8 litres, 4-cylinder, DOHC for improved airflow to boost power and speed, and 16-valve.
When you are searching for the next adventure, new coasts to explore, new fishing spots or new water sports to experience, think high power and let your outboard engine become your search engine.
New Helm Master® EX Bow Thruster compatibility
Helm Master® EX is instrumental in retaining Yamaha’s position as the go-to boating systems provider. Available throughout the Premium range and on selected High Power Engines, including the new 200hp and 150hp, it allows everything from single outboard family RIBs to multi-outboard blue water cruisers to be controlled using an intuitive joystick control system. It’s now easier than ever to link the groundbreaking Helm Master® EX boat control system to a variety of engines with Autopilot, navigation assistance functionality, the revolutionary Set Point™ position control technology and enabling joystick control from anywhere on the boat.
Helm Master® EX is now compatible with selected Bow Thruster units, enabling additional control to all helmsmen, and providing a particular advantage to those on larger boats with increased windage. Combining Helm Master® EX with a Bow Thruster simplifies all manoeuvring in close quarters by controlling everything from one simple joystick. No more jumping between throttles, steering wheels and bow thruster controls, just one simple, intuitive joystick to control engine power and direction. This further enhances and simplifies the helmsman’s experience of boat control and is really useful for larger boats that are increasingly powered by engines like the XTO.
New 6X9 Digital DBW Remote Control
Yamaha remote controls set the standard for operator comfort, convenience and flexibility. Their intuitive, stylish ergonomic designs allow for virtually effortless, one-hand control of throttle and shift functions, and allow for surprisingly easy command of horsepower and multiple engine installations.
The 6X9 Drive-by-Wire remote control throttle unit is suitable for single and multi-engine boats and now features an integral start-stop engine control button negating the need for additional controls, thereby freeing up more space.
Mid Power Segment
Spanning from 80hp to 30hp, the Mid Power range is the ideal companion for enjoyable days with family or friends on a boat exploring the local coastline or finding fantastic new fishing spots. All of these lightweight outboards lend themselves to easy launch and storage.
Combining steadfast performance and ease of handling, with maximum fuel efficiency, this is a truly unique segment offering a multitude of variations.
Designed for simple installation and ease of use, these units are packed with dependable power and are ideal for a wide range of boat types. Whether you are sailing, fishing or towing skiers or wakeboarders, these reliable compact engines are designed to deliver minimum emissions and maximum enjoyment on the water.
Versatile and Portable Segments
The Versatile segment is ideal for a broad spectrum of boater needs, from inshore fishermen to coast-hopping family boaters, and safety boats to tenders. The Portable segment offers the ultimate choice of lightweight, high-quality engines for excitement and ease of transition in and out of the water. The Versatile and Portable segments both saw new launches in 2022.
The industry-leading Yamaha 25hp offers power trim and tilt, even on short shaft models, ideal for boaters operating in shallow waters or recovering the boat to a trailer regularly. Operated by a handy electric switch, it’s simple to adjust the angle and draught of the engine to avoid damaging the skeg or reach optimal performance and efficiency when on the plane.
Yamaha’s 15hp range includes short- and long-shaft electric start models with power tilt, all controlled from an ergonomic tiller handle. The T 9.9hp (High Thrust) model was updated with electric ignition, power tilt and an extra-long shaft, ideal for keelboats and smaller sailing vessels. With an optional remote-control box, the unit can be controlled from the boat’s cockpit. Yamaha’s B 6hp offers the ultimate in quiet, smooth performance from an economical, high torque, 2-cylinder, 212cc engine.
YAM Inflatables
Ideal for family days out, adventures with friends or even simple tender duties, Yamaha’s YAM Inflatable boats are durable, lightweight and have excellent handling, especially when used with an engine from the Versatile segment, which makes for a perfect pairing. These premium products have many of the features that would be expected from a luxury tender, paired with intuitive design features and uncompromising build quality.
The TAf range features a solid aluminium hull for extra stiffness and to cut through the water for greater comfort in choppy conditions. There’s also a convenient anchor locker and multiple seating and console options to make your boat bespoke. The S range offers a solid slatted floor, with high-pressure keel, providing rigidity when afloat and making it easy to be packed up to fit in a car or garage, making it a great summer family boat for beach hopping. It offers the best ride quality of any collapsible tender and is generously sized to take more people ashore.
The Air range comes in a variety of sizes for different uses and features a high-pressure inflatable deck to give the boat firmness when inflated, while still being able to be packed and unpacked in minutes. This makes it ideal for a larger boat tender where space onboard the main vessel is at a premium. The T model is so quick and simple to inflate, store and carry. Its ultra-lightweight makes pulling it up on a beach or onto a boat easy. The roll-up floor makes it the ideal tender for situations where space is limited, such as exploring from a small yacht.
WaveRunner
The 2023 WaveRunner range cascades many of Yamaha’s latest and greatest technologies and functionality further into the range, enabling more riders to enjoy the very best in engineering excellence and guaranteed reliability and allowing more users to discover a whole new world of thrilling experiences.
New Looks
The latest FX Cruiser SVHO has been released in limited edition colours for a real statement on the water. On-trend carbon and mint colouring and fresh graphics, with a luxury paint finish, make this exclusive edition especially eye-catching.

Supporting Ultimate Surfing
Big wave surfing sees some of the world’s best surfers in a life-long pursuit of huge waves as they break on the shores of the Atlantic coast. Recent years have seen the world of big wave surfing grow in popularity, and Yamaha WaveRunners have been a fundamental part of this evolution.
Yamaha WaveRunner performance, stability and reliability have all been key factors in the growth of the sport, allowing riders to navigate surf in the safest way possible. This reputation and innovation have maintained Yamaha’s position as the unit of choice for the rising stars of the sport.
Nic von Rupp is a professional big wave surfer from Sintra, Portugal and a Yamaha Motor ambassador. He needs the best possible equipment and watercraft, with the acceleration and handling to get him onto and out of the biggest, fastest waves successfully and safely. Nic uses the FX SVHO for his adventures amongst waves, relying on the FX SVHO to be brilliantly stable for two riders in some of the world’s most extreme and challenging conditions. His WaveRunner has to be reliable, nimble and powerful enough to dart in and pick him up, then outrun the surf on a rescue. Nic personifies the commitment that Yamaha Motor puts into every product, as well as the drive to push boundaries and challenge the impossible.
Clean the Sea
Yamaha Motor’s inspiring Clean the Sea projects are diverse and widespread from supporting record-breaking voyages collecting marine debris to more local initiatives focusing on raising awareness and promoting recycling.
Inner city rivers are often most susceptible to the negative impacts of pollution. Since 2017, Yamaha Motor Portugal has run initiatives which clear debris from the Tagus river in central Lisbon.
In 2021, Simone Zignoli, an Italian adventurer highlighted the importance of having a minimal impact on the environment when on a Italian adventure aboard his FX WaveRunner. Zignoli navigated the WaveRunner up the east coast of Sardinia, finishing his journey at Genoa on the Italian mainland. During the adventure, Zignoli completely immersed himself in Sardinian nature, ensuring he left no negative impact on the environment around him by living off only what was growing locally.
In Scandinavia, since 2021, Ocean Crusaders have been supported by Yamaha outboard power to help clean up operations in the waters around Sweden. Likewise, Yamaha Motor started working with Lucas del Paso in 2022. He and his team launched Blue4Green following a world record-breaking Personal Watercraft journey that saw him cover over 3,500 kilometres in eight months, collecting marine debris all the way.
The Clean the Sea projects reflect our commitment to support a host of activities across Europe to preserve the marine environment for tomorrow.
Pro Fish Cup
Yamaha Motor continues its commitment to encouraging people’s pastimes with the launch in 2022 of its latest and most accessible event yet, the Pro Fish Cup. Recognising the growth in the popularity of fishing over the past years, Yamaha Motor reinvigorates its prestigious Pro Fish brand to a fun and inclusive Europe-wide competition.
This contest is open to beginners, amateurs and experienced participants alike and is all about sharing, being with the people you enjoy spending time with, trying something new or perfecting your passion and enjoying the true spirit of sportsmanship. The competition has been specifically designed to be simple to enter and participate in a new sport, requiring only a free app on a smartphone, fishing equipment and an affordable team season ticket (complete with Welcome Pack) to take part.
The 2022 finale was held on the Ebro River in Spain, an internationally acclaimed location for freshwater fishing. Guests enjoyed catching carp, zander, black bass, perch and even the elusive catfish during a three-day VIP experience. The event was attended by fishing ambassadors and local champions from across Europe and has already set the scene for an exciting 2023 Pro Fish Cup season.
The 2023 season will be even bigger with more countries and teams entering with bigger prizes to be won!

Yamaha launches the Ténéré Spirit Experience for 2023
Yamaha launches the Ténéré Spirit Experience for 2023
The ultimate Rally Raid Adventure for every Ténéré owner!
Launched in 2019, the Yamaha Ténéré 700 has opened up an exciting new world of freedom and adventure for over 40,000 European riders. With its high torque CP2 engine, agile handling and serious long range capabilities over virtually any terrain, the Ténéré 700 is the most versatile motorcycle ever produced by Yamaha.
Built with the same rugged DNA as the original Yamaha XT bikes that won the very first Dakar Rally – and went on to challenge for the podium in the world’s toughest event for over 40 years – the Ténéré unleashes a rider’s spirit of adventure and enables everyone to discover what is beyond the next horizon.
As well as being the definitive adventure bike for riders looking for a lightweight round the world machine, the Ténéré has proved its outstanding Rally performance in 2022 with Ténéré World Raid Team’s legendary rider Alessandro Botturi winning the Tunisia Desert Challenge. Teammate Pol Tarrès made off-road history by taking his Yamaha Ténéré 700 further than any other 2-cylinder machine at the Erzberg Rodeo.
By bringing together the worlds of Touring, Rally and Enduro like no other machine, the Ténéré is undoubtedly the most outstanding Adventure model ever built by Yamaha. Now we stand before a new horizon, bringing customers closer to the true meaning of the word Ténéré and coming within a very short reach of actual Rally Racing. Yamaha has created a whole new immersive Ténéré Spirit Experience that opens up even more possibilities for Ténéré Riders with the same hunger for more adventure and our dedication to Riders for Health.
New Ténéré Spirit Experience for 2023
Yamaha is totally committed to ensuring that every rider is given the chance to enjoy their Ténéré to the full in a diverse range of riding situations. For 2023 Yamaha is introducing the exclusive new Ténéré Spirit Experience in which Ténéré owners can join some of the world’s most famous Rally Raid events, with the official Yamaha World Raid Team.
A total of 20 Yamaha customers and their motorcycles will be transported to their chosen Rally Raid where they will follow both the actual route and a parallel route to the race competitors and live alongside the race team in the bivouac each evening. For many riders this will be a once in a lifetime experience that will live in their memories forever, and for others it may ignite a desire to compete in Rally Raid in the future.
Run by former Enduro champion and Dakar Racing Team manager Marc Bourgeois through his company MBSM on behalf of Yamaha, the Ténéré Spirit Experience is open to Yamaha Ténéré owners who want to take their adventure riding to another level and get a real taste of Rally Raid but without the intense pressure of competition while also being able to experience the beauty the landscapes provide.
Total package from start to finish
Ténéré Spirit Experience is a total 360 degrees package that is designed to cover every aspect of the preparation, flights, bike transportation and every aspect of participation in the customer’s chosen Rally Raid. Before the event each rider can choose to attend a Ténéré Experience Centre* if they want to get tuition on their riding or navigation skills, and MBSM will take care of everything else from start to finish – including daily pre-event briefings, logistics, technical assistance, GPS tracker fitment, breakfast, dinner and camping.
Suitable for standard Ténéré models
Customers will be riding their own machine at the Ténéré Spirit Experience events, but they don’t need to worry about making too many modifications. MBSM technicians will equip every bike with special wheels and tyres as well as navigation equipment prior to the ride – and in some cases the participant’s Ténéré will also be required to be fitted with an extra fuel tank for specific events.
Join the Ténéré World Raid Team at four legendary events for 2023
The team of Marc Bourgois (MBSM) will take charge of both the Racing organisation and the Customer program under the umbrella of the Ténéré World Raid Team. Allowing for seamless integration of true racing spirit and customer experience.
The 2023 Ténéré Spirit Experience includes four of the most famous Rally Raid events, starting with the Morocco Desert Challenge in April, followed by the Hellas Rally in May. After the summer break the TSE and TWRT continue with Transanatolia in September and conclude with the Tunisia Desert Challenge in October.
Ténéré Spirit Experience riders will be sharing the bivouac with Ténéré World Raid Team riders Alessandro Botturi and Pol Tarrès who will be competing at selected events – and there will also be extra top level guest riders joining various races.
